extFS is one of the primary Linux file systems. With the driver on board, you can plug extFS storage devices into your PC and access their contents for reading, copying, or modification.
- ‘ExtFS for Windows’ is a free program from ‘PARAGON’ software group that enables Windows users to access their Ext 2/3/4 file systems directly from ‘My Computer’. I have had used this program in its early days not ever since, but recently I came across it quite accidentally and decided to give it a go under Windows 8.
- Alt-n for 'select none'. Space or Enter to re-select the module to copy. If needed, downarrow, space, as many times as there are modules to copy. At step 3., with old versions of dt, I needed just a single press to space. Now that 'module order' is also offered, I need one more down-arrow press.
- Right-click on the EXT4 partition and select 'Properties'. Open and expand the folders on the left pane to check the content of EXT4 partition. If the Linux EXT4 partition contains some valuable files, move to the next phase, and you'll learn how to access and regain data from a Linux partition on Windows.
